Part-time Youth Advisor

UU Church of Reading

UU Youth Advisor to become part of our Senior High Youth Program (SHYP). SHYP is an established, active, vibrant youth-led program at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading.

We seek someone who:
• Has experience with High School youth
• Understands and values UU principles
• Will facilitate Sunday evening meetings for Senior High youth, participate in
overnights and conferences, and attend Youth Adult Committee meetings
• Is comfortable letting the youth lead, while knowing when to provide guidance
• Will continue to promote youth presence in the congregation
• Is interested in social justice and current events
• Enjoys working collaboratively with fellow staff & adult volunteers
• Wants to work in a healthy, creative, supportive and fun environment

The position is for 30 hours per month, which includes planning and participating in youth meetings/activities as outlined above.

Sexton / Custodian – Two Part-Time Positions

The Winchester Unitarian Society

The Winchester Unitarian Society has two part-time Sexton / Custodian positions available. One position is for early weekday mornings. The other with a schedule (to be agreed upon) varying somewhat week to week. Both paid hourly. General cleaning and light maintenance of the building (including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting) with outside work (landscaping and snow removal). Previous experience preferred. Reliable, detail oriented, flexible, task oriented, motivated and good people and communications skills required. Both positions are year round with two weeks of time off over the summer. Start date as soon as possible.

The church is located at 478 Main Street in Winchester in Winchester Center. It is an active faith community with 310 members and a congenial staff.

Director of Religious Education

United First Parish Church (UU) in Quincy

United First Parish Church (UU) in Quincy seeks part-time Religious Education Director for children's program.

Qualification: must have commitment to UU principles, good communication skills, and enthusiasm for working with children and teens. Prefer someone with prior religious education experience. Laypersons and adult students welcome to apply.

Salary: based on UUA salary guidelines

Schedule: 10-15 hours a week September - June. Sunday mornings, plus weekly preparation time and monthly evening meetings.

Responsibilities: Help plan and prepare for weekly classes and special events. Coordinate teachers' schedules. Select and present weekly children's story for service. Coordinate with minister in planning 4-5 inter-generational services per year. Attend monthly meetings with Religious Education Committee. Assist with teacher recruitment. Advise R. E. Committee on curriculum planning and selection. Other duties as needed.
